A LOST MEMORY
This piece visualizes the feeling of forgetting the way someone sounds. After dealing with the sudden loss of someone important to me, I held on to every memory I had of that person and am terrified of forgetting his laughter and the way he sounded. “Remembrance” is a representation of the process of forgetting. First, it starts with a clear visual of an old radio, representing the voice. As your eyes move to the right, the radio starts to get distorted and they blur together – this is meant to show what it feels like to remember bits and pieces, similar to static between certain words or songs on the radio. Eventually, all you can see is the blurry silhouette of a person sitting on a couch. All you remember at this point is what they looked like, their voice being simply a distant memory.
